Personality:
Positive Trait: Resilient:

Rogue is a space and time traveller with experience in overcoming and pushing on no matter how things go. Always ready with a quick comeback, a plan when things go wrong, and even just the strength to not let the sadness and the horror of the world slow him down. For years he raced through the stars with his best friend, partner, and boyfriend, Art. Their life was good and they enjoyed being bounty hunters. Sadly Art was killed and Rogue had only one choice. To keep going on.

It’s how he ended up in Regency England at a manor home on a bounty. Even though he was alone, flying a ship designed to be flown by two, he pushed on at his job and found himself mistaking the Doctor for a shapeshifting murderous alien. In fairness, he was two of those things. Three if you asked the Doctor about Gallifrey. Despite being outnumbered, and a bit outdone because of it, Rogue lets none of it slow him down. Both in their discovery how many of these aliens there are through proposing to the Doctor in a show meant to be a distraction but for two men who seemed to have bonded beyond the normal in a short time, a bit more as well.

Even after sacrificing himself to save Ruby and the Doctor, as well as London and the world, Rogue didn’t let it stop him from recovering and carrying on. The last he’s seen is in a cave on a desolate planet, hiding from the deadly aliens he was banished alongside, and waiting for a sign of the Doctor, trusting he would be found. Never giving up, no matter the odds.

Negative Trait: Impulsive:

While his true name is not known, he did come by the name Rogue honestly. Whereas his former partner was the one to make the gadgets and keep them moving from one job to the next, it’s Rogue that went in where weeping angels fear to tread.

Before he lost Art, Rogue was the bane of his partner’s existence with the chances he took. Unwilling to let a bounty go, he would take the hunt through businesses, down busy streets, and even kidnap a CEO and strap him to his back to return a criminal alien for the money he brought. In those days it was all for the thrill. He saw it all as great fun, loving the game and the adrenaline of just changing a plan on a moment’s notice and trusting in himself and his partner for it all to go right. Including telling Art where to be, and then without hearing another word, without knowing for sure, he just takes a leap off a building with the belief he would have a spot to land.

In England he finds himself taking the same risks as he had earlier in his life. From flirting with the Doctor to leading him away from the party when assuming he’s the shapeshifting alien he’s looking for - shapeshifting yes, but not the right one. When told to cause a scene, after finding himself feeling emotions for another for the first time in a long time, he doesn’t hesitate but to drop to one knee before everyone, ring lifted in proposal. When seeing the Doctor, this man he wanted to argue through the stars with, unable to hurt his companion, Rogue doesn’t hesitate but instead takes her place in being banished to an unoccupied planet with just the final words: Find me. Thrown into a place like Duplicity, he’s likely to test the boundaries and experiment with what all this place might mean. No matter the dangers that could represent.

Negative Trait: Stubborn:

As a side of that impulsiveness, Rogue gets it in his head to know what he wants to do and it takes a strong act to sway him. There is no danger that stops him, whether it’s falling to his death or facing deadly killers; if he thinks it will lead to the end he wants, he will push on no matter what. Even when asked by the man he loves not to take the risks, he still does what is needed to get the bounty. If he gets a plan in his mind, he’ll do it no matter what.

Once he gets it in his head that the Doctor is the killer he’s looking for, it takes seeing the non-human face of the aliens to believe that he’s not the bounty that Rogue is after. Yet it’s not always for danger or taking risks he shouldn’t. He refuses to abandon the Doctor for himself, and sacrifices himself for the sake of the other’s heart. Even in the end, while he’s at the very ends of the universe on an unknown planet, he refuses to give up hope, stubbornly trusting that one day he will be rescued. It's a stubborn streak that will keep him pushing on in the city.

Negative Trait: Manipulative:

Whether it’s the nature of the man he is, or the work he’s done for so long, Rogue’s duplicitous behavior is nearly second nature for him. Whether the ability to turn on the charm as needed to draw others in to trust him so he can access places he shouldn’t, or to fit in during a Regency ball, Rogue is well versed in adapting to whatever situation is needed and putting on the right kind of face. It often leads to a flirtatious nature, or a frank conversation that could well be nothing more than a story told, or a playful persona to ensure he can get the information he needs. In the end it’s often hard to know what is the true person and what is just another game being played, another persona shown for his benefit. Yet he doesn’t entirely hide the truth of these games, giving into the playful rake persona so often that the line between who he is and who he pretends to be is not often clear, and he most certainly lives up to his chosen name.

Powers and Abilities: Rogue is a human from an unknown time. His greatest skills are as an investigator and a bounty hunter. He’s fit and in shape as a fighter, but nothing beyond the human level. He has some skills in crafting weapons and tools, though he’s not great at it. Mostly a tinkerer.
